Choosing the right flooring for your business is actually more important than you may believe it to be. Having the right flooring material can improve the efficiency of your employees and at the same time, help you reduce overhead costs on maintenance and repair. It can also be used to draw in customers and make them feel more comfortable, it's all about fostering a good environment.

Getting the right flooring for your business can help entice new clients or customers. Your office or establishment is a physical representation of you and your business. You would want it to look good and reflect the care that you put into your business itself. You want your establishment to be a place where people would want to come in and feel totally comfortable. The best way to do that is just have a nice area, have good looking clean floors. The little things DO make a big difference, people notice those things more than you may think.

Not all businesses are the same, just as your flooring needs aren't the same as everyone else's. Each business will have a different need when it comes to flooring. Some businesses will only need to refinish hardwood floors while others need a complete overhaul. To help you find the perfect flooring for your business, here are the different commercial flooring types along with its pros and cons:

Carpets

Carpets are perfect for offices and gathering areas. Aside from giving your office an elegant look, carpets also reduce noise and reverberation. This allows employees to focus on their work more. With all the different patterns and designs we have on hand, carpets can make your space visually pleasing to your clients and guests. Carpets are also comfortable and pleasant to walk on.

One of the major downsides of using carpets is that you can’t use it in areas subject to heavy traffic or where water could be a possibility. Carpets absorb moisture and are prone to stains and dirt. Though there is a new line of carpet that features a stain free fiber system, it is still not advisable to use on heavy traffic areas because it can wear off easily and then your carpet will look flat and dead. You just have to weigh each area individually to find out what flooring really is best for it.

Hardwood Flooring

Hardwood floors are expensive which can be a good thing especially if you are really trying to impress customers. It exudes elegance and sophistication. Aside from that hardwood planks are durable and don’t fade over time. You may need to refinish it after several years.

If you are renting out a place and you’re not sure if you’ll be staying there for a very long time, hardwood flooring may not be the best option. You might as well go for engineered flooring or laminates. They look nearly just as good, and are extremely durable and will definitely last you, but you won't have to put in quite the investment that hardwood requires.

Laminated Flooring

Perfect for heavy traffic areas, this indestructible flooring material will make it possible to get read of nearly and mess or stain in a matter of minutes. It is coated with a clear resin coating making it impenetrable and easy to clean. You'll rarely need more than a rag or broom to clean up any mess on a laminate floor, they just don't pick up messes like other flooring materials do.

When using laminates for your floors, it is important that you don’t flood the boards because water can sip through the underlay and this can loosen the planks. Though they are water resistant, you still don't want to push it at all if you don't have to. Think about it like a smartphone. Chances are good that it's water resistant these days, but you still wouldn't want it to be exposed to water unless it absolutely has to.

Luxury Vinyl and Vinyl Tiles

If you want flooring for your bathrooms, vinyl is the way to go. This type of flooring material is water resistant and can handle flooding. It is easy to maintain and doesn’t require heavy cleaning. Vinyls are cheap and you can replace it whenever you want. They're truly perfect for bathroom use, regardless of moisture or water, they'll stand strong. We've submerged them for days at a time and nothing at all happens to them. Again, you want to avoid as much water as you can, but it's not something you really need to worry yourself over.
